SimpleEdit is a powerful development environment for PHP, released under terms of the Apache Software License 2.0 and therefore both, free as in beer and free as in speech.
It offers most of the features one comes to expect from a PHP IDE, including autocompletion, direct FTP integration, integrated help for PHP and HTML, solid project management and a structure overview. SimpleEdit doesn't stop here and instead offers features that typically only Java-Developers have at their finger tips. In fact it was the first PHP-IDE to offer basic refactorings, such as "Introduce variable", "Introduce constant" and "Move to file". It was also, and as far as I know still is, the only IDE that offers generators for getters, setters and constructors, based directly on your code.
There are many more features available and even more to come, as SimpleEdit is being activly developed and still in an early phase of development.

This board is supposed to offer support to users and another way of communication between developers and users of SimpleEdit. You may use either english or german for questions, for consistency I'd like to ask you to favor english unless your english happens to be unreadable. Please do not throw a german message in a thread started in english. The threadstarter will most likely be unable to understand what you said, so it isn't worth the effort. Thanks.
