Just had a problem with my ODBC-JDBC connection to a SQL Server database. Which gave only a little information.

After a few google searches I found the Java Tabular Data Stream (Type 4) driver for SQL Server on http://jtds.sourceforge.net/, which is better to use anyway and also gives mutch better feedback!

After using it, I soon discovered my failure

Für die Information wäre noch wichtig zu welcher Datenbank du via ODBC verbunden hast.

You should tell us with which database-type you have problems to connect with ODBC.

First I used the default JDBC-ODBC driver that comes with the Sun JDK 1.4.2_09. After having throuble with that I discovered the JDTS driver on sourceforge.net. In both cases I was connecting to the same SQL Server database (I don't know the version of it).
